I am a retired secondary math teacher offering math tutoring services for all ages. I can provide weekly homework help, test review or instruction on difficult concepts. My strong points are easy to understand explanations and a love of teaching. I know that many students have difficulty with math and I enjoy making it easy for them. When I was teaching I was chosen at least 50 times for inclusion in Who's Who Among American Teachers which is an honor chosen only by students. Due to the high percentage of repeat students, contracts are not necessary. I teach math so everyone can learn and I am confident that you will schedule me again when you need math help.
I realize that these are tough economic times but math tutoring is an investment in the future of the student. Because math is a subject that builds on itself if a student struggles in a math class, the math classes after that one will be more difficult because the student did not master the material previously covered. If you wait too late to get help in math, it can be very difficult to catch up. Let me help make math easy for you or a child. A half hour or hour a week can make a huge difference in the life of a student. Because my explanations are so easy to understand, it is not necessary to spend hours a week being tutored which makes it more convenient to fit in a busy schedule.
I offer group tutoring (3 or more children at the same time) or you can have your child tutored with one other child and split the cost.Your child receives the same high quality instruction but at a fraction of the cost.

I tutor usually at the Tuscaloosa Public Library on Jack Warner Parkway in Tuscaloosa, Alabama but will commute to a student's home if the distance is reasonable and my schedule permits. I will be charging a dime a mile for the one-way commute to a student's home .
